On Site Menu Laminating

Rethinking menus to help restaurants enhance safety when they reopen:

Laminated menus:
Restaurants have been moving away from laminated menus for years, mainly because of concerns about sanitation. While flu and cold pathogens do in fact live longer on plastic than on paper, plastic menus can be cleaned. Paper menus need to be disposed of because they cannot be washed and disinfected. The plastic film on a laminated menu can safely be reused if proper sanitation procedures are executed between customers.

COVID 19

Americans have always been a resilient people and Covid-19 has magnified the need for that adaptable spirit many times over. The restaurant sector has been especially hard hit. Initial shutdowns have evolved to partial openings in many states, but the challenge of how to best serve your customers remains. Research shows that the in-house menus seen in many restaurants in the past are one of the most unsanitary, contaminated items in the establishment.

A recent article in Food Safety News foodsafetynews.com highlights some of the innovations Americans are known for. As mentioned earlier, one of the problems faced since the pandemic started has been contaminated surfaces, whether on old style menus or otherwise. Fast food restaurants and quick stop gas islands have tried with some success to utilize digital menus on apps to order online in order to reduce the need to order on in house menu screens. This article mentions four possible fixes for the menu dilemma.

1. Digital Menus

2. Chalkboards or other Large signage

3. Laminated Menus

4. Disposable Menus

None of these solutions are perfect, and all may have strengths or weaknesses.

The COVID-19 pandemic has all but eliminated the role of communal menus in restaurants.

Menus are often the most germ-riddled part of an entire restaurant, according to WebMD. Customers come in, pick them up, handle them, pass them around, and leave them for the next patron. For restaurants looking to reopen, menu safety will be a top priority, and many state governments have zeroed in on it as a necessity.

Considering this, restaurants need to rethink their menus. The days of passing around a paper menu are over, and restaurants need to adapt. Here are new ways restaurants can approach their menu to help keep their customers and employees safe.

Price per menu: .99ea per page using a 5mm laminate. 8x10 and $1.25ea for 12x18 sized menus..

Menu Prices:

50 menus get 5 free.

100 menus 10 free.

All menus will be laminated on site and will never leave your restaurants for safety concerns.
